TOOELE, UT, July 25, 2018 – Sarah and Bridget Burgess and the BMI Racing team geared up and traveled to Reno Nevada for the K&N Filters Silver State Showdown Presented by Toyota, round 6 Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series.  The Reno track is unlike any other track in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series due to the elevation changes.

Friday afternoon practice went well for Sarah Burgess in her #97 Gear Alloy Prolite showing speed in each of the three sessions.  This would be Bridget’s third time visiting Wild West Motorsports Park, but her first time hitting the track in her #8 Bubba BurgerProlite.

Just as the Prolite field was lined up on the grid for qualifying, lightning strikes were reported in the area, cancelling the session for the ProLite field.  This would mean that the starting grid would be by championship points standings and with Sarah and Bridget starting on row 6 next to each other.

The weather cleared up and the LOORRS officials did a great job in recovering the track, and the green flag dropped in front of a packed grandstand for the night race.  Sarah charged hard at the start of the race in her Gear Alloy Prolite and was in 10th at the half way point.  This gave Sarah the opportunity to reset and refocus on the rest of the race.

Once again, the green flag dropped, only to have the caution flag wave for an incident on turn 1, so the field was re-racked for a complete restart.  The green flagged dropped for the third time that race, and Sarah managed to gain one position even before turn one.  This set the pace as she managed to move forward, with the amazing durability of the BFGoodrich® KM3 Tires Sarah finished 6th her best finish this season, and moving into the top 10 in championship points.

Bridget and the Bubba Burger Prolite battled throughout the race, maneuvering around racers reversing on to the racing line, and then dealing with rear brake issues, she finished 14th.

Sarah and Bridget Burgess and the BMI Racing team are busy preparing the both the prolite trucks as the prepare for the next race The General Tire Utah Offroad Nationals presented by OPTIMA Batteries and their new home track Utah Motorsports Campus
